The talk is titled Advancing fish identification in industrial settings: a molecular approach informed by eDNA innovation and was written by Heather in collaboration with other Ecometrix experts, including senior scientists and directors Joe Tetreault, Jason Dietrich, and Elizabeth Haack.

With accurate species identification still a challenge at industrial facilities, the talk explores the application of cutting-edge DNA-based tools to improve in-house identification protocols under facility operational constraints.

It will be part of the 51st edition of CEW and follows our involvement in CEW 2024. This year’s theme is titled Holistic protection of our ecosystems: Integrating ecotoxicology science into coastal and inland management. Alongside Heather’s talk, CEW will include panel discussions, short courses, and other talks filled with other cutting-edge research, inter-disciplinary dialogue, and lively discussions.
