The 2011 conference was hosted by the St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences at NavCanada Conference and Training Center. The conference is a forum where researchers and graduate students present and discuss the latest advances in St. Lawrence River and Great Lakes research. There were over 50 presentations which focused on four main topics: Conceptual and deterministic ecosystem modelling in river systems; Species at Risk; Assessing the near shore water quality in the St. Lawrence-Great Lakes ecosystems and Oil spills in the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence: What are the risks and ecological effects?
The poster, authored by Rob Eakins, Michelle McKinley and Curtis Mahoney (Portlands Energy Centre), described the results of 3 years of seasonal E. coli monitoring conducted on behalf of the PEC in the Toronto Outer Harbour. The abstract is available upon request; please contact Michelle McKinley.
